This week’s topic on food scarcity and agriculture really hit home for me. As many people would relate, food is an essential part of not only survival but also a social aspect of our daily lives. For many people, food is an integral part of their lives such as bodybuilders. I believe that this week’s topic is something everyone can and should be more aware of: humans need to find a more sustainable method in agriculture. The common misconception that we discussed in class is the information that needs to be widespread such as organic isn’t necessarily better. I envision a world where we encourage farmers to reduce the use of chemicals and pesticides. We also need to stop believing that micro-managing every aspect of nature will help the natural course of ecosystem balance. I sometimes think the more humans that try to force the balance, often end up making the situation worse. Therefore, I want to reward natural farmers with more resources to help their sustainable agriculture. Resources that don't include only money but technology can help reduce manual labour in farms. Technology that also won’t add to the climate crisis. Technologies that can help are better monitoring systems and AI which can help us plan the best plan of action when unpredictable situations arise.

I agree with you that modern technology can help ease the workload of farmers, as every increase in food production is dependent on agricultural science. Sustainable agriculture can significantly increase food production while positively impacting the lives and well-being of the farming population.
Yes! technology can greatly reduce manual labour in farms and definitely play a part in reducing the use of chemicals and pesticides used in agriculture. Organic doesn't necessarily mean its better and I think all of us humans should focus on more sustainable agriculture methods.
Definitely enjoyed the emphasis of rewarding natural farmers with resources that are essential for sustainable agriculture, without making it entirely about carelessly dumping funds in the face of crises. Technology is a great suggestion that I hadn't personally thought of, and in the context of unpredictable circumstances I wonder how that'd play out!
Great post! I agree that worse result may arise if things are force and rewarding natural farmers with resources, such as technology, is such a brilliant way to have natural farmers to keep up the great work they do and also it can potentially nudge other farmers to do the same.
Tech is a super cool angle on this. A friend of mine is working on AI & machine learning for automating the headers of combine harvesters...but I can imagine this sort of tech could be applied on smaller scales too. It was neat to see in Kiss The Ground that app that the one farmer had to take notes and plan field rotations–AI integration there, or some sort of predictive metric on field/soil health would be super neat!
I love your idea of integrating technology into sustainable farming! Since the technology field is one of the most rapidly developing field today, there will definitely be some breakthrough if technology is integrated into farming
I agree with this post a lot, specifically the point you mentioned that micro-managing each individual aspect of nature will not help the ecosystems as we might think. Sometimes its better to leave nature to run its course unaltered than to interfere with a 'solution' that ends of hurting it even more.
Thank you for sharing! I completely agree that sometimes, humans need to take a step back and let nature do its thing. As we saw in "The Biggest Little Farm", nature is remarkable in its ability to find a balance.
I think it is interesting how you managed to link agriculture with technology because this may be a new concept for a lot of people and I believe it offers insight into the topic of sustainable farming.
I agree a world where farming using less chemicals and pesticides is very important.
I really agree with all the points mentioned, and in particular, the intervention of providing technology to fat=rmers to reduce manual labour seems a really interesting solution.
