I talked with my sister about the Indigenous water crisis. Although she was aware of the water crisis globally, she was surprised to hear that this issue was prevalent in Canada (as seen in the image below). I was concerned that this viewpoint may lead her to take clean water for granted, if she thinks this problem is "distant" rather than in Canada. Therefore, I thought that talking about it might lead her to manage her clean water better. Our conversation did not hit a rough spot. She acknowledged her knowledge gap, and agreed that the problem is that the government has not provided the proper water treatment facilities to Indigenous communities. In the end, we agreed that a solution is to educate our youth. If our future leaders are not ignorant to the Indigenous water crisis, then there will be more laws centered upon remedying this issue. #Talk4Change
