Death is something that everybody has been uncomfortable to talk about at some point in their life. However, it is SO important that we encourage the conversation. Death care is a big decisions and has many impacts on the environment and world around us.
I envision a world where"eco-friendly" burials are available globally in a legal and accessible manner.
I value a variety of CHOICES to be given to all people and their families in preparation for and after death. This comes from pushing for innovative and eco-friendly options to become available to all, challenging and potentially changing the norms and default options for burials.
This starts with making eco-friendly alternatives legal all around the world. Encouraging for sustainable options such as acqua-mation and natural burials to become legal and more known about is the first step in sustainable options being chosen for death care.

Hello Maria, great post! Yes, it's so important to give people the right to choose! But so many people can't even afford conventional burials, which is why we should promote these eco-burials even more!!!
I completely agree, death has become such a taboo topic, making people hesitant to talk about it. As cliche as it sounds, death is inevitable, so we should get more comfortable talking about it and the death care that comes with it.
I agree with you, and I think the view of many people today is that the more luxury the funeral, the greater the respect for the deceased. But actually it's not. I think we should change people's idea that all life originates from nature and should eventually return to nature and then be invested in the creation of new life.
Thank you so much for this great post! I totally agree that we need more eco-friendly burial options. This means aquamation and natural burials should be available at all funeral homes.
I totally agree, creating change, and allowing people the option to have a choice is important.
Hi Maria, I agree that the services offered to families should be expanded to include more eco-friendly options.
Hi Maria, I agree that a change in the norm is important and providing new options that can be cheaper and eco-friendly will help our environment a lot!
you’re definitely right Maria, it’s not just people needing to made eco-friendly decisions regarding their death care. The main thing is to make eco friendly options available and legal first.
Maria, thank you so much for sharing your insights. I think having hard conversations about death are a great way to deal with the taboo of this subject and also spread awareness of eco-friendly death care options.
I agree that options for environment-friendly burials need to be in place and that it is not the responsibility of just the people.
