Large scale fires have become more of an issue now more than ever.
I envision a future where there are no longer uncontrollable amounts of forest fires especially during the hot summers.
Although fire itself is natural and important for the ecosystem, any more than the necessary amount of fires needed causes a lot of harm to all the living organisms on Earth.
All the air pollution created by forest fires during the past few summers impacts the human health especially for those who have respiratory conditions such as COPD or asthma.
Something to decrease the risks of large scale fires could be to give tree planters more specific instructions to plant trees further away from each other so the tree replanting is less dense.
To catch outdoor fired early on, perhaps there could be several fire detectors in in fire prone areas/forests that would alert firefighters to extinguish the fire before it gets out of hand.
Also smoking should not be allowed in any areas with bushes or trees that can burn easily.
Hi Sharon! Fires have definitely a rampant concern. I appreciate you recognizing fires in both a beneficial and detrimental light; I really support the idea of having fire detectors in fire prone areas. Non-smoking areas are a must, and I'd like to note that I've noticed campfire controls to be more strict in the last few years, which is really great.
Hi Sharon,
I think your idea of planting the trees further away from each other in quite interesting and a great idea to reduce the spread of forest fires.
Hi Sharon, I agree that wildfires are becoming a very large problem that needs to be dealt with and I think implementing more effective replanting methods to reduce over dense forests is a great solution.
I really like your idea of not allowing smoking near areas that contain tree. This is important because our trees or bushes could potentially catch fire and lead to more air pollution.
Great post Sharon! I liked how you included action that could be taken at several levels. We do need better laws, but that doesn't absolve individuals of their responsibility.
Hey Sharon! Great point. I like your note about guiding tree planters to plant in a way that also is a "prevention" method for fire disasters!
I agree that increasing the distance between plants is very important. By giving more detailed instructions to the people planting trees would be an excellent way of reducing the intensity of fires
Hello Sharon, I think it's super interesting how you mentioned giving guidance to tree planters since this is something I have not thought about but would be extremely helpful.
