🐷We question how to make the land adapt to produce a higher yield for less, but it is time that we people do the learning and adapting. 🐷
Current agricultural food production is unsustainable in a fiscal and environmental sense. Farmers are being subsidized to be able to keep up with necessity for a high yield. Food production requires agriculture to be stable when it is inherently a complex and unpredictable system. I envision a food secure world with better agricultural practices that do not compromise the integrity of the biological systems in place. My guiding principle in this ideal world is to prioritize sourcing goods locally, normalizing vegan habits, and scaling polycultures based on the original natural environment. My intervention would be a call to action to use knowledge from indigenous leaders and learn how live with the land, rather than forcing it into a completely different type of land.
Hi thanks for sharing the great post! I really liked your idea of learning from the indigenous leaders, and I do hope there could be more opportunities for the farmers to get educated from them on how to work with the land.
Really enjoyed your post!
Sourcing goods locally is a big test of the scale of the industry, just like you can't develop agriculture in a city with a small footprint but a large population base, I think we need to find faster and more efficient ways to transport.
Vegan habits are becoming more popular these days, but it's a very controversial topic and I don't think we can force people's will.
I love this post!!! It is short but super concise and gets the point across well. Your idea of connecting with indigenous leaders and learning how to live off the land is fantastic, and is something I have never thought about. There is definitely a ton of value in that suggested intervention and I think it should definitely be heard.
slay!! I love that you are integrating the topics from previous weeks into your posts. They really are so interconnected :)
Hello,
I really like your personal plans of sourcing food more locally and supporting local farmers.
Thank you for sharing your ideas. I particularly liked how your intervention is centered around Indigenous knowledge. I truly believe that consulting them will undoubtedly have positive impacts on agriculture.
