While fashion is important to a lot of people, as it is a way to express themselves, it often has a very nasty effect on the environment. The fact that the average American woman is buying 64 articles of clothing per year and half of those are only worn 3 times or less shows how crazy the trend of fast fashion has become. Fast fashion is just mass-marketed inexpensive clothing that changes as trends change. The truth is, in this day and age, trends are changing way too often and because of this, fast fashion is producing more and more clothing to make profits based on these trends. Instead, I envision a future where we can ditch the idea of fast fashion and move towards long-lasting clothing as a way to help save the environment. #UnleashValues

64 new articles a year and only wearing them 3x is astounding to me! If this is happening every year and we're still not satisfied with our wardrobes so we feel the need to go out and buy 64 new items, then maybe it's the system that's broken. Maybe consuming at this rate isn't the answer to all our fashion problems. But then again, who is going to critically look at the root of our over-consumption when everyone seems to be doing it, eh?
I feel you are spoken my heart now, fashion this thing is really difficult to define, but now people in pursuit of something very empty, in the name of fashion do the excessive consumption and waste things are really bad, not only for this resource is a very serious squeeze, and support for people's an infinite vanity, this is bad, need to be changed.
